Writing On…
One Small Step…
Happy belated new year, everyone! I, for one, am very glad the holidays are over. After a few weeks away from my NaNoWriMo draft, I’m back at it, revising and editing the draft.
This week was a big one. I’ve chosen a cover designer for Mason & Jackson’s book, and I’ve also chosen an editor. Both are amazingly talented and I know they’ll help me make this story as good as it can be!
I signed up to write a short story for a promo that will run in the summer, but to participate, my first book has to be published before April 30th, 2022. Yikes! The good news is that now I have a deadline, which sometimes helps to light a fire under my ADHD ass.
I got some encouragement this week from an amazingly talented author and close friend, Jeris Jean. She liked the first few chapters! I was so thrilled when she told me she didn’t think it was crap! Just one person I admire telling me I’m not wasting my time gave me a HUGE confidence boost.
One small step at a time, I’m getting closer to this goal that seemed ridiculous only a couple of months ago. For someone who loves to start projects but almost never finishes them, this is a big deal!
The cover should be done by late February, and I cannot wait to share it!
